Med spa near Prospect Heights, Wheeling, and Mount Prospect: what’s on Arlington Heights Road

Before you book anywhere, these four questions will help you tell a medical spa from a facial studio or an IV bar.
The three are often grouped together on map listings, even though they’re very different businesses. Any clinic should be able to answer these questions quickly.
Question one: who’s holding the needle?
Botox, Dysport, fillers, Kybella, and PRP are prescription drugs or needle-based procedures. Every botulinum toxin label carries the same boxed warning that the effect “may spread from the area of injection” and can cause swallowing and breathing problems, per the Botox Cosmetic prescribing information. That’s rare, but it’s also why the person injecting should be a nurse or higher, with a medical director behind them, working in a treatment room rather than at a home party or event.
Here, injectables are done by Charles Samuel, FNP-C, our nurse practitioner, in a treatment room in Suite C, under medical direction. Every Botox and neuromodulator visit starts with a consult and a written plan.
A facial studio doesn’t inject. If one offers injections, that’s a reason to look elsewhere.
Question two: what’s the device, and what is it cleared for?
“Laser” and “RF” often get used loosely, so it’s worth asking for the name of the machine and what the FDA cleared it for.
The InMode Morpheus8 we use is FDA-cleared for coagulation and contraction of soft tissue, per its 2024 clearance. The FDA’s own safety communication on RF microneedling says it “is a medical procedure, not a cosmetic treatment,” and tells patients to seek “a licensed health care provider with training and experience” on the device, per the FDA. That’s the difference between a Morpheus8 series in Arlington Heights and a facial with a similar-sounding name. For hair removal, the Candela GentleMax Pro is cleared for all skin types, I to VI.
Note that a HydraFacial isn’t what makes a place medical. It’s an FDA-registered Class I device that’s exempt from premarket review, and a good facial studio can offer one. We offer HydraFacials too, but having one on the menu doesn’t answer the questions above.
Question three: what won’t they do?
It’s also useful to know what a clinic doesn’t offer. We don’t offer body-contouring devices such as CoolSculpting or Emsculpt Neo. For a double chin, we offer Kybella, and for loose skin, Morpheus8 or Forma. For weight itself, our nurse practitioner runs medically supervised weight loss, which is a different plan from anything on the skin side.
IV drips are another good place to ask questions. The FDA has flagged “intravenous (IV) hydration clinics, medical spas, and mobile IV infusion services” among settings where it found drugs being compounded under insanitary conditions, including “personnel in street clothes with ungloved hands filling drug products,” per the FDA’s compounding notice. So ask any IV provider who screens you, who mixes the bag, and what’s in it.

Two things to know when you arrive at our complex. We’re the medical spa in Suite C, not the wellness studio at the front of the complex. Getting to Arlington Heights from each town
We’re on the east side of Arlington Heights Road, about 200 yards south of Dundee Road (Route 68), a block and a half south of Buffalo Grove High School, on the Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove border. Look for the single-story brown brick building. There are several similar office complexes on this stretch, so it’s a good idea to double-check the address before you park.
From Wheeling and Prospect Heights, we’re a short drive west. From Mount Prospect, head north.
When you arrive, you can park in the free lot right outside the building. There are no meters, no garage, and no validation needed.
